It had always been a dream of mine to sail around Croatia and one random day I decided to book a trip to there with less than 12 hours before the flight I needed to be on left. It was quite stressful finding a flight that arrived in time before the boat set sail for the week. But I found one so now I had 3 hours to travel around London, pack my stuff and make it to a hotel so I could get on a 4am flight.
I did it, I was now in Croatia but I had just under an hour to make it to my boat, my adrenalin was pumping but thankfully I managed to find my boat in a marina of hundreds. Before we set sail we had a safety run down and time to meet everyone else that was here for the trip. Little did I know that this amazing group of people from all over the world would become family making this trip truly memorable.
It was now time to set sail. We would be sailing to various islands around Croatia. I was overwhelmed by happiness as the most beautiful turquoise ocean surrounded me, a cocktail in my hand and the sun burning my skin. During the days we would explore islands Dubrovnik, Korcula (my favourite) and Hvar just to name a few and party at night. In-between islands we would stop for a swim stop where we would just play and hang out in the ocean.
There was this one place just outside of Old Town in Dubrovnik that I will never forget, it was a bar inside a cave. After a long day of sailing and exploring it was so nice to relax in the most luxurious cave with a few really close friends I had just made. The food we ate was the best I had ever eaten, even til this day, we all ended up in food comas after.
This 7 day trip sailing around Croatia was better than I could ever of imagined. Sailing around paradise with incredible people, laughing, exploring and creating ever lasting memories. You can never really go wrong with Croatia. I will forever be grateful for my impulsive decision for it was a dream come true. Don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone, the best times of your life are waiting for you!
