Morocco. This is where my most amazing travel experience happened. Let me tell you a little bit about it. I decided to go by bus, from Murcia, Spain, in the spring of 2015 and I invited three other friends to join me in this adventure. We were all so excited that we didn't care the long hours we would spend on the bus. In matter of fact, it made our trip even more special. We were able to appreciate the different landscapes that Morocco has to offer: from green plains, snow-capped mountains and of course, the desert.
Arriving at our destination it's when my special travel moment starts. Starting off on Merzouga, we bought a turban in a local store. We would definitely need it for the activities we were about to engage. Wearing turbans make you feel very much part of the environment, like a local.

We started our adventure with a 4x4 ride through the dunes, pocking our heads up the roof of a Land Rover, appreciating the endless sand ocean of the Sahara desert, right in front of us. The drivers took us to this beautiful lake, right there in the desert. That same day, we spent the night in the desert; a dromedary helped us getting to the camp.

The Berbers cooked dinner for us. It was the best dinner we had in the whole time in Morocco. It tasted local, simple and genuine. It was just perfect. We spend the night talking with the locals. They're all sharing incredible stories and spreading their wisdom. That was a learning experience for all of us.
We all gathered around a bonfire, to sing and dance with the locals. They have a contagious energy, a very welcome spirit and good vibes that infect everyone around. It was such a special moment. I'm never going to forget that night and I will always remember it with great affection and a big smile on my face.
If you want to visit Morocco, I highly you to get away from the tourist attractions. Try to blend in with the locals, get a tour guide and try a road trip. You are going to love it.
