I don’t know if you ‘ve ever been to New York, but this is one of my favorites places. I visited this awesome town twice and it will see me soon again for sure.
The first time, I was there with some good friends of mine, which was great, because we had a beautiful and enormous apartment, with a super view to the Chrysler building.
The second time, however, I flew there with my boyfriend and this time my experience was completely different. Unforgettable. We stayed at a very cool hotel at the Madison Square Garden and we loved every minute of our trip. We did a lot of sightseeing and we behaved like proud and typical tourists.
But one of the most special things we did, was a helicopter flight over Manhattan.
The day started quite good with a breakfast at the worlds famous Plaza Hotel. The same one from Home Alone 2, do you remember? After a spectacular breakfast we took a stroll through the 5th Avenue and finally we drove to the Downtown Manhattan Heliport.
There we got some security advice and a life vest. That was the first time I got a little bit nervous about this adventure, but that’s how things get really exciting, right?!
For our helicopter ride we teamed up with another couple and the four of us took off above Manhattan. I was allowed to sit next to the pilot, which made the whole experience even cooler. Even thou it wasn't my first helicopter ride (I flew once over the Grand Canyon), the feeling of of taking off still gives me the feeling butterflies in my stomach. It's all so exciting.
Quickly we were very high and I immediately forgot all the insecurity about our flight and just enjoyed the unbelievable view over Manhattan. I can’t describe my feelings throughout this experience, but it was just magical. I could not take my eyes off the beautiful skyline and I felt like not wanting to go down ever again.
Reality hit me, when our ride was over and when we were on the ground again. But this was such an amazing adventure, that kept me grinning the whole day.
So, pack your bags, fly to this smashing city and look at it from above
